The art depicts a Fireblowing "Jab Jab". The name comes from the French Patois word for devil. The "Jab Jab" is a traditional carnival character that revels in the "dutty" (dirty) mas of J'Ouvert (from French as a break of day whereby participants douse themselves in oil, mud and powder and dance in the streets during the very early morning preceding the commencement of Carnival Monday "Pretty Mas" (attractive costumes) later during the day.
