Description

Picture By GHANSHAM MOHAMMED. The Temple in the Sea, Waterloo, Trinidad was constructed in 1947 by an Indian labourer named Seedas Sadhu. To avoid land rights challenges the Temple was built in the sea. With just a leather bag, Sadhu transported stones to the shore to build a small island for the base of the Temple. He dedicated +25 years on this endeavour. The temple represents the perseverance of a poor indentured labourer from India who was determined to honour his roots and his Gods. SWEET Heavens! The photographer waited for an hour to take this shot and capture the orange colour that pervades the evening.
